Authors Elizabeth McChesney and Judy Schiffman brought the story of “Keke’s Super-Strong Double Hugs” to life after they saw a need to help parents and children tackle conversations of sudden loss, feelings of grief and the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Chicago Tribune spoke with the authors in this article and praised the work they’ve done to help children through literature and art.
With the help of Lauri S. Bauer Foundation for Sudden Loss, the Dana Corman Foundation and the donation of this website from Yakkety Yak, we’ve been able to help families all across the nation. While these topics can be difficult to discuss with a child, this amazing story was written in hopes of making these conversations just a little easier.
We hope that “Keke’s Super-Strong Double Hugs” and “Keke’s New Day” will make their way to homes, bookshelves and classrooms across the country! Ensuring that we, as caregivers, are ready to tackle these difficult conversations in a loving and reassuring way. Our friends Keke and Clyde are here to help you navigate these tough conversations.
